Dr. Magdy S. Guirguis has been practicing chiropractic medicine and holistic arts since he graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College -- Los Angeles in 1988. In addition, he holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University, Northridge. In 1991, Dr. Guirguis established Advanced Chiropractic Center and, in 2009, he created Arbor Vitae Wellness Center. With the expansion of his business, he wanted to design a comprehensive "one-stop holistic center." Along with chiropractic care, Arbor Vitae offers naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and massage therapy.
In addition enjoying an active lifestyle that includes yoga, rock climbing, and meditation, Dr. Guirguis has over 30 years experience as a volleyball player and has coached high school and college volleyball for many years. He has served as the chiropractor for several professional volleyball tours and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s TEAM in Training.
Dr. Guirguis has three kids (ages 17, 15, and 12) who keep him on his toes, active and very young.
Dr. Tamara D. Trebilcock, ND, is a leader in women's and digestive health and is a licensed doctor of naturopathic medicine. She received her medical degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash., the nation’s leader in natural medicine for general practitioners and has had her practice showcased in a PBS series on naturopathic medicine. She specializes in treating digestive concerns (bloating, constipation diarrhea, IBS), low general energy, hormonal imbalances, thyroid imbalances, PMS, acne, pregnancy preparation, infertility, anxiety, and depression.
Dr. Trebilcock is Medical Director of Integrative Health Institutes (IHI), a leading Institute in Integrative Medicine, and serves as a consultant and lecturer, providing expertise in the field of integrative medicine. She serves as the Chair of the Education Committee of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association and is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Trebilcock strives to educate, honor, and listen to all patients to discover and cure the individual obstacles preventing their optimal wellness.
Deborah S. Kim, L.Ac., Dip.OM (NCCAOM) is a California State and nationally licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and Asian bodywork specialist. She graduated from UCLA and Yo San University, receiving her master's degree with honors in traditional Chinese medicine, and has also completed postgraduate studies in orthopedics and holistic nutrition.
Deborah practices acupuncture and related therapies (cupping, moxibustion, and tui na, among others). Together, these modalities create a complete form of internal medicine that has been used for thousands of years in treating a wide variety of health concerns. Muscle testing and other diagnostic tools are utilized as a highly personalized form of analysis to determine nutritional needs for whole food supplements as well as herbal medicine. A detailed description for a customized diet as well as lifestyle counseling will be given to each patient.
Deborah is a certified tai qi and qigong (Chinese arts in energetic movement) instructor, as well as a yoga instructor, and may prescribe exercises as part of a personalized protocol.
Dr. Emily Dashiell is a licensed doctor of naturopathic medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from University of California, Santa Cruz, and received her doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash. Dr. Dashiell has seen firsthand the effectiveness of natural therapies in treating chronic and acute illness and, as such, is committed to helping her patients obtain their health goals and experience life without the limitations often set by disease.
As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Dashiell blends conventional medical diagnosis and treatment with the use of natural therapeutics, including dietary and lifestyle counseling, craniosacral therapy, nutritional supplements, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and bio-identical hormones. While the focus of her practice is in women’s health and pediatrics, she regularly sees patients of all ages who have a broad range of conditions and concerns.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Dashiell is happy to have returned to California to practice medicine. A former collegiate swimmer, her knowledge of the high demands of serious athletics and the importance of proper nutrition and health are integrated into her practice. She is a member of the Professional Development committee for the California Naturopathic Doctor’s Association (CNDA), where she help to organize conferences throughout the year. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, surfing, running on the beach, biking, hiking, and backpacking.
Erica Stephenson, MA, MSW, CBPI, has been working educationally with individuals in the Los Angeles area to improve the quality of their lives and relationships for over 15 years. She holds master’s degrees in human development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena and social work from USC.
As a personal life coach, Erica will work with you to help focus on your goals and overcome obstacles in your life through the use of various evidence-based methods such as mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive coaching, and motivational interviewing. The essence of Erica’s services is educational and not clinical in nature. The work is designed to provide clients with the tools needed to gain clarity for personal growth and development. The results will help you take on the challenges you are facing, whether physical, emotional, or behavioral. Personalized plans are created for each client to meet the uniqueness of each individual experience.
A certified parent educator who also holds certifications in early childhood education, Erica works with families and children as well as with adults.
